1. Ensure the surface is dry and free of old finishes, paint, wax, grease, polish, dirt, or other foreign matter.
2. Sand the surface to obtain a smooth, uniform finish, and remove all dust.
3. If desired, apply a Minwax stain to unfinished wood surfaces, following the directions for application and drying times.
4. Shake the Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane vigorously for two minutes, and then shake it for 10 seconds occasionally during use.
5. Protect adjacent areas from overspray, and remove any wet overspray with mineral spirits.
6. Hold the can vertically, 12 inches from the surface, and spray using an even, sweeping motion with slightly overlapping strokes. Apply sufficient material to seal open joints, edges, and end-grain on unfinished wood.
7. Apply a thin coat to avoid runs and sags, and recoat within 2 hours. If unable to do so, wait a minimum of 72 hours, lightly sand, and then recoat.
8. Apply at least three coats on unfinished wood and two coats on surfaces already finished.
9. After the final coat, allow 24 hours before normal use.
